Virtual Tree Masterclass - Save The Date
Each year between 5 and 6 people in the UK are killed when trees or branches fall on them. Around 3 people are killed each year by trees in public spaces (HSE).
Whilst in reality the risk is low … it may not be perceived in this way by the public. Climate change, our environment, inspection, maintenance regimes and disease all affect the stability of our trees. Duties are placed upon us under the Health and Safety at Work Act and in addition, there are other reasons why local authorities (as duty holders) and others may want to better manage their tree stocks to reduce the risk of injury and the possibility of civil claims:
- To reduce the risk of property damage from subsidence;
- To maintain stocks to preserve their amenity, conservation, and environmental value;
- To prevent personal injury through trips and falls on footways disturbed by tree roots; and
- To prevent vehicle damage and personal injury from obscured sightlines on the highway.
RMP Risk Control recognises this is a key risk area for our clients to manage and want to support you by delivering a virtual tree masterclass to you this October. We will deliver three one hour sessions on various aspects of tree risk management. Sessions are open to anyone from within your organisation to attend.
