Outsourcing Public Services within Government, Local Authorities, and Public Service organisations is encouraged and can be a valuable strategy in improving the delivery of services and projects. However, according to Simon Wren-Lewis, London School of Economics British Policy and Politics, January 2018, the one main benefit of contracting out services is to save money. In light of the past 10 years or so of austerity, perhaps it is not unsurprising that outsourcing is popular and, for many organisations, necessary.
