New highways code of practice
The long-awaited new highway code of practice was published on 28th October and authorities now have 2 years to fully implement it.
The new code is set to bring about a radical change in the approach to highway asset management and will have an impact on highway liability claims. For some authorities the transition to a risk-based approach will represent a significant shift in the way they manage highway assets.
Our risk control team have produced a briefing note, to help local authorities understand the new changes and how they will affect their risk management and claims processes.
